[ Dean may have had his eyes on the hotel, but Castiel had his feet squarely planted in the ground exactly where he was. The idea of going back into the hotel, being surrounded by any walls, or manmade things, filled him with trepidation.
He was afraid, and he knew where he wanted to be--surrounded by trees, plants, life, insects, out in the forest where nothing (except you know, all the flesh eating zombies) could hurt him.
And so he responded automatically, since Dean was letting him hold on to his shoulder, and he took flight silently, took Dean with him, and vanished off the spot. His compass was off - had been since arriving here - so while they flew cleanly away, seeming to vanish instantly from where they were standing, there was no real aim to their landing, and they reappeared perhaps thirty yards beyond the gates, beyond where the thick forest pressed in around them. ]
Not the hotel, [ He insisted, wordlessly handing his blade across to Dean. He didn't want to have to stab anything right now, but that didn't mean that he didn't understand that stabbing things might be crucial. But as he passes the blade he falters: ] Is this...
