[The customary static washes over the radios followed by what sounds like the usual moaning and groaning of infected. Those very same infected that haven't been seen for a while.]

Okay, so... I might need help? Um, if you met me about a week ago, I'm sorry? That wasn't really, uh... me. So, can we start over? Hi, I'm Rhys and I'm currently stuck in a building by the radio tower--did you know there's a radio tower here? Yeah, there's a radio tower. I've been working on modifying it to carry more than just audio signals. It's kinda set up so that it actually maybe did once before, but long story short, it doesn't anymore. I've been gradually repairing it. That's how I... got stuck, actually. I needed a part and I went hunting for it and those weird things in TK's ad were all over the Tech Shack. I thought they were dead. They weren't, if you were wondering.

[There's an elevating level of panic in his voice as he speaks and it only seems to make his voice raise in pitch. Nothing like the tone heard upon his arrival, lacking all the confidence and attitude.]

So yeah, back to me being stuck. If you follow the main street to the super market, branch off to the north-east road, and follow it to the tower you'll see come into view, I'm in the store two blocks down. Big sign says "Tech Shack". There are about eight of those infected things and I'm--heheh kinda... clinging to the rafters for my life. Help.

[TALK]

[A hiss of static opens the communique followed by an lengthy pause. TK clears his throat;]

Now that that guy got word back to the Oasis Station, I got weather and stuff back up. Guess that means I can start tellin' ya what's goin' on. Y'all get to hear my lovely voice every day at noon tellin' ya what's what about weather and the like. Heheehee!

So, without further ado; We got cloudy skies with a chance of scattered showers. Infected sightings are kinda, really low. Dunno what that's about. But we got Bandits on the horizon! Lots've'um. Keep them hatches to the sub-city locked tight if ya know what's good for ya.

Oh! And if ya need anything from home, I got a requesitions form ya'll can fill out and I'll see what the station feels like sendin' down for ya.

Happy huntin', folks! TK out!

[OOC: TK will reply to any questions you have for him to the best of his abilities. If you have an OOC question, simply ask under the OOC Questions thread below. The Weather will be updated weekly, off to the top-left of the screen on the Network Page and the Logs Page. Items requested will be dropped off on Thursdays with a Drop Ship. [Daryl's doing his morning head count, checking the watch, jogging through the warehouse, taking mental note of where everyone was, when he realized one very important person wasn't there: Padme. Her notebook with the numbers was left next to her bed, but she wasn't around. After he realized she wasn't there, he noticed that the smartass and Leia were gone, too.

That wasn't normal. So to the earpieces he went:]

Padme! Han! Leia! Check your asses in!

[After several minutes without answer, he switched tactics:]

Hey! Anyone see Padme, Han, or Leia today? Know if they headed out together for a run?

This is Captain Han Solo hailing…whoever’s listening on the only frequency we’ve got. Do you copy?

This is Captain Han Solo on the planet’s surface hailing whoever is out there. Do you copy?

[ KXKXKXKXKXKXSH. ]

Oh, come on. I fixed you! [ that would be the sound of something that definitely got banged on. ]

This is Captain Han Solo of the Millennium Falcon transmitting in the blind. Our ship crash-landed on a desert planet. We need evac. Someone's gotta be listening.

[ There's a long silence, but then something in the transmission changes, followed by a garbled voice. Something changes again, and the voice gets clearer. It's a male voice. ]

Ah, Mr. Solo. That's going to be a no-go on the evac. We don't have anywhere to evacuate you to, up here isn't an option.

[ The tone in his voice makes it sound like he doesn't exactly care to evacuate them either. ]

How's Earth? Having a good time? Here's what I'll do, Mr. Solo, I'll send you down some food - or something. I keep saying trail mix and water is such a boring combination.

[ There's another pause, long enough it sounds like the "friend" on the other line has left. Any response that Han fills it with is ignored and this is obvious when he speaks again. ]

I'm sure you have plenty of questions, wanting answers. Look, I'm kind of busy, you know, doing important stuff, making sure you guys stay alive. So, good job on getting the communications up and running. Need anything, just holler, I'll have this feed monitored. Ciao!

[ A couple minutes after the nameless and faceless man makes his exit from the rather one sided conversation, there is a strange tapping noise, that doesn't really have a pattern, or if it does, it's lost in the transmission.

Hey, uh...fellow...stranded people. [Awesome start.] Look, I'm a little on my own here, and it's not really...working. I think we should take a headcount of all of us here and make sure we're all in groups, probably three or more. We shouldn't go anywhere alone, especially after all these attacks.

Might be a good idea to establish some kind of leadership too. And regular meetings. We're all stuck here together. We gotta make this work or we're all dead.

[His confidence wavers once he's finished.] So...yeah. That's what I was thinking would be good. If you guys agree.

Very little about this situation makes her happy and when she speaks, it shows in her voice.]

Han? Luke? Threepio? Lando? Where are you? If this is some sort of sick joke of a honeymoon, I'm not laughing.

[After everything, today was supposed to be the happiest day of her life, and it had been until she'd woken up somehow in that pod. In the middle of a desert.]

He'd been a more than a little distracted by the ghost of Beth walking around and avoiding her that he hadn't called attention to Athena's escapade. But she wasn't back yet and there were still far too many walkers out and about the city.

He was in the Warehouse, on the third floor, looking out the window at the rain coming down like they were in the middle of a frickin' waterfall. But his head was elsewhere. Worried. Desperate. He couldn't lose another little girl on his watch.

It's an invasion. These things--they're men. They're not like these creatures. They're alive, and they're hungry for human flesh...for...flesh. One of them bit me.

The undead are loose too. They're fast, and wet - corrupted - and they smell terrible. I don't know where they're coming from, but they're everywhere. Please be careful.

[ A long, fractured sort of pause, like a breath taken through pain. ]

THEY'RE IN THE CITY!

[Daryl didn't bother lowering his voice at first. This was something people needed to hear. After that quick shout came the sound of Daryl panting for breath and, somewhat distantly, his feet pounding alternately on pavement and mud. Static scrambled the feed for a second here and there when he had to duck under some overgrown plants while he ran. Eventually the sound of something sliding across gravel came and then all that could be heard was Daryl sucking a in a breath before he held it.

The silence that followed was broken by the groans and odd high-pitched whines of walkers converging on his location. Seconds stretched into minutes and Daryl barely allowed himself to breathe just to keep from making a sound. Only when the walkers had finally passed and were long gone did he speak again. This time in a hushed, cautious whisper.]

[Daryl takes to the earpieces about mid-morning.]

Alright, so it looks like most of us have been settling in at one of two places. The Hotel and the Warehouse. Some of you have taken yourselves elsewhere and as long you got shelter and can defend it, you're okay.

For those that ain't in the know, the Warehouse is this old building some of us found near the wall on the edge of the lake. Sound walls, one of them iron fences around the parking lot got them spikes on the top. Turned into loft space before everything went the way it did. Point is, we found a storm drain that's bringing water in pretty directly. So we got plenty of that for boiling. We got a fence we can defend. Room inside that to start a garden. Plenty of space inside for them that wants it. Found a bedding store, gonna be dragging some mattresses over from there...

[Not being all together was a little frustrating, but there was so much room and no walkers in the city (that they'd found so far), so it wasn't as worrisome. And hell, if the hotel got compromised, those that were there could find refuge in the warehouse.]

We got ourselves a friend that landed alone last week. Brought me something of a peace offering couple days back, after Newt went and got himself stuck up a tree.

[And the day Daryl yelled at everyone.]

Good sized deer. Been smoking the meat so it'll keep. Most of it's ready. You want some, you can come get some. Plenty to go around and deer's worth the effort of making the walk.

[Anything else he needed to bring up? ...oh, right.]

For those that need to be concerned about it [Alex], tonight is the first night of this month's full moon.

[There. Leadership for the day done with.]

[[action for those partaking in the smoked deer or anything else at the warehouse is perfectly fine.

EDIT: I misunderstood how the lake was butting up to the city, so there's been an edit regarding the warehouse location! It's close to the wall that has the lake on the other side. Not on the water itself. Sorry for the confusion.]]

Everyone who came to this planet in a drop shuttle, please listen. My name is Padmé Amidala, I am a former senator of the Galactic Senate. I know that means little to many of you... but there are people out there who want me dead. [ She pauses in her speech, her voice clear and calm. ] I am telling you this because I will not hide who I am, or what I know.

By now, you all know what we are facing, here. And until we can establish a connection to those who are out there, get the comms on the ship to work... in order for all of us to survive, we need to work together.

[ Another pause in the speech, for a speech it is -- it doesn't matter she isn't standing in her seat in the Senate, speaking to the Senators, arguing in favour of peace; she is arguing now, too, for what she believes. And she believes in unity. ]

I understand many of you will think you can't trust those you don't know, but down here, we only have each other. If we want to live until we get a chance to get out of here, back to those we've been taken from, our best chance is to combine our resources, our strengths.

Daryl was right. No one should leave the city without alerting at least someone else. Moreover, we need to know exactly who were on the ship, what you can do. If you want to hide your identity, I understand -- but don't hide what you can do for others. We are not each other's enemies... don't make the mistake of acting like we are.

[ It sounds like the end, but she has one more thing to say: ] I will be outside the hotel. Please come to see me, tell me only your name if nothing else. So we know at least how many of us are here.

[ The last sentence is softer than the rest, pleading when the speech itself was certain, carrying the sense of authority someone has when they're used to speaking like this, trying to convince people to see things the way she does. But the last bit is her asking, hoping that people will at the very least do that much. So no one ever goes missing without anyone knowing they should be there. ]

Uh. Hi. I’m Maya.

[ Maya has never been good at public speaking, and while the small group of survivors doesn’t make for much of a public, it’s enough. There’s a beat of awkward silence for a second as the Siren clears her throat. ]

First of all, I know some of you are working on getting communications up. While I was looking around I found this… I think it’s part of a video game system? It might have useful components in it, so if anyone wants it, let me know. I certainly don’t have any use for it.

Second of all, I’m a Siren. If you don’t know what that means, in layman’s terms it means I have powers. I can trap things in an extra-dimensional bubble for a short time, and I can set them on fire. It’s proven pretty effective against the zombies, or… whatever they really are, so if you’re going out into the forest and need assistance, don’t hesitate to ask.

I do possess some healing abilities as well. I can’t completely heal major injuries, but I can at least help a little. Minor stuff is usually no problem. Let me know if you need healing and I’ll make it out to you as soon as I can.

Finally, our, uh… [ There’s a noticeable pause here. How does one describe TK? She’s not sure how to feel about the guy, considering she is about 90% sure that the guy should be a zombie himself. ] Our “friend” Mr. Baha gave me a pistol, but no ammunition. I don’t suppose anyone else has found any?

I don't remember how I got out here, wherever here is. I have this odd hatchet and I have no idea where I got it. I'm guessing out of my shoulder, but I don't know where it came from before that.
