04: Wake Up Call
THEY'RE IN THE CITY!
[Daryl didn't bother lowering his voice at first. This was something people needed to hear. After that quick shout came the sound of Daryl panting for breath and, somewhat distantly, his feet pounding alternately on pavement and mud. Static scrambled the feed for a second here and there when he had to duck under some overgrown plants while he ran. Eventually the sound of something sliding across gravel came and then all that could be heard was Daryl sucking a in a breath before he held it.
The silence that followed was broken by the groans and odd high-pitched whines of walkers converging on his location. Seconds stretched into minutes and Daryl barely allowed himself to breathe just to keep from making a sound. Only when the walkers had finally passed and were long gone did he speak again. This time in a hushed, cautious whisper.]
Not sure how they got in, but I found them in the south-west corner of the city. Near the wall. Didn't see any holes nearby, but I know there are some. Not sure I can make it back to the warehouse 'fore it gets dark, neither. Not without drawing them the-
[Daryl's voice cut off at the sound of glass breaking very close by. A muttered 'shit' was the last thing he said before he was once again off and running.]

[ THIS IS BAD why didn't you listen to your own advice of always going anywhere with at least one other person. ]
Find shelter. That should be your first priority. Thanks to your warning, we all know to be on guard tonight. [ So don't worry about them -- find a safe place and first thing the next morning, they can send out teams to find out where the Walkers are getting in. ]

[Daryl barked, clearly back on the run by the heavy panting of his breath even if his foot falls couldn't quite be heard due to the terrain.]
Got three runners on me and those bastards are fucking smart! They went looking for me after I hid.

[ But obviously she was wrong. And it seems he was, too, on this. ]
Where are you? [ Like hell she's going to leave him there when he needs help. Her voice says clearly "I will come there and don't try to argue" -- she's made up her mind. ]

[Along with being faster and willing to climb.]
Find Dean. He's near the hotel and heading for me.
no subject
[ Obviously. ]
Dean? What does he look like? I don't think I've met him.
no subject
[He hopes.
Sorry, Padme. He really can't give a better description when he's in the middle of trying to lose three runners and their slower friends.
Another muttered 'shit' came across as his footing slipped and he went skidding across some mud. Fortunately he was able to get back on his feet, but he's not sounding so hot.]

[ Probably.
She draws in a shocked breath when she hears his muttered curse. ]
Daryl? Try to see if there's anything, a house, a shed you could barricade yourself into, until we get there. It sounds like... outrunning them isn't an option.

[Which he'll do if he can reach that fire escape.]

[ Or anything that passes as weapons, here. ]

[ So the arrows will last him at least that long. ]
