An Announcement
[He's been avoiding the comms for a while, hunkering down somewhere safe and waiting for the chaos to die down. But this is madness, and he needs to say something.]
Hey, uh...fellow...stranded people. [Awesome start.] Look, I'm a little on my own here, and it's not really...working. I think we should take a headcount of all of us here and make sure we're all in groups, probably three or more. We shouldn't go anywhere alone, especially after all these attacks.
Might be a good idea to establish some kind of leadership too. And regular meetings. We're all stuck here together. We gotta make this work or we're all dead.
[His confidence wavers once he's finished.] So...yeah. That's what I was thinking would be good. If you guys agree.

Where the hell have you been?
no subject
In a hole in the ground. I got stuck out in the open.

[Daryl's already gearing up to brave the rain -again- and go find Finn.]
And they don't have earpieces so they cain't hear us neither, dumbass. Most of us been holed up in warehouse worried your ass got yourself eaten. Where are you. Landmarks this time, so's I can drag your ass back where it should have been already.
[He yells because he cares.
yell back at him]no subject
...I'm on the southeast side by the wall. Next to the motel, there's a..vehicle half buried in the ground. I'm inside the front part of it.
no subject
And when's the last time you ate?
[Does he have to pack you a lunch?]
no subject
Day and a half, maybe two?
no subject
[Daryl grabbed a bag of the trail mix. Actual meat would have to wait until they got back to the warehouse. A bottle of water came, too. Just because Finn had plenty of rain to drink didn't mean clean water, stuff that had been boiled for safety, wouldn't be appreciated.]
I'm on my way. You stay where you are.
no subject
Okay. I'll be here.
[There's a short pause.]
...Thanks, Daryl.
Action
Alright, I'm near the motel you were talking about. See the car. The vehicle. Coast is clear of walkers. Get your ass out here. I'm across the street from the motel. On a roof.
[Where he had a good vantage point to survey the area. What anger had been in Daryl's tone earlier was gone. It was all business, calm and straightforward. A little soft.]
Action
It's a relief to hear the voice in his ear, though it startles him somewhat and he jumps slightly before responding.]
On my way.
[He takes a few deep breaths before pushing the flat piece of metal up. The light is temporarily blinding and he blinks rapidly as he climbs out, heading confidently for the motel and glancing up at Daryl. Luckily the building isn't too tall, and there's enough handholds and debris to climb it. He brushes himself off once he gets to the top, breathless but grinning.]
It's good to see a familiar face.
Re: Action
Know you been sitting a while already, but you should hop a squat anyway. Get some food in you.
[Daryl said in lieu of a formal acknowledgement of Finn's greeting. He held out a small tupperware container that had seen better days, but was still sound enough to seal properly.]
Eat slow. Got some clean water, too. We'll stick around here another half hour, then head back.
[He shifted in his seat after handing the food over, turned his head towards watching the curtain of water coming down just a couple feet away now.]
You know how to use any weapons?
Action
He knows that Daryl risked a lot coming out here, and he watches the other man as he eats, wondering why.]
Blasters, mostly. Not bad with a saber. I have a crowbar in my room at the hotel.
Action
[Daryl picked up the axe recovered from the cannibals that he'd been carrying and moved it to Finn's side. Daryl still had his knife and the nerf bow. He'd make do until they were back to the warehouse.]
After you've had yourself some time to get some strength back. Give it a few days, we'll make a run together if you want. Get your crowbar and any other shit you left there.
[While he was saying like it was a given, there was a questioning look in his eyes. He wasn't going to order Finn back there, so if the kid didn't care, they didn't have to. And if Finn would rather someone else go on the run with him, Daryl could step back.]
no subject
[ In case that wasn't obvious, since he's not going to apologize for himself. ]
no subject
Yeah, I know. [There's a short pause.] I didn't think anyone had even noticed I was gone.
no subject
He's the defacto leader of the group that's retreated to the warehouse. There's room for you, and anyone with you, if you care to join us.
no subject
I get the feeling he's going to drag me over to the warehouse whether I care to or not. [He chuckles.] That's alright. It's just me. Being with a group is safer anyway.
no subject
[ It's a question, sort of. ]
no subject
...I feel safer in groups, normally, but uh... [He shrugs.] Crisis of faith, I guess you could say?
no subject
I agree with Daryl. Perhaps not his delivery, but your actions have needlessly worried many people who are stranded here along with us.
Stay where you are. We will come for you.
no subject
Hey, you don't even know me. And you're new. How was I supposed to know anyone had even noticed I was gone?
no subject
I might be new to this world, but I am not new to this relative situation. Not letting others know you're leaving and where you're going causes unnecessary panic. It's your job to keep the rest of your companions informed of your position in times of war and siege. It's common courtesy and basic respect for others.
[What? Were you raised in a test tube or something?]
no subject
I get that now, but it's not like we were a proper squadron or anything.
no subject
Common courtesy to others isn't necessitated by a squadron or any sort of militaristic presensce.
no subject
[He doesn't often lose patience, but when he's been in a hole for three weeks half starving, he doesn't have a lot of patience to start with.]
no subject
Just Leia is fine, Finn. [She does feel sorry for him, however.]
I'll make sure that you have something to eat when you get back. Be careful
no subject
[ OH THANK EVERY GOOD FORCE IN THE GALAXY. ]
Where have you been? I thought you'd gone missing like the others. I'm so glad you're alright. I'll come to you, you should join us, it's a near miracle you've survived this long on your own.
no subject
No, no, it's okay, Padme. Daryl's coming for me. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.
