All ya'll talking shit about how we all gotta work together 'cause we're stuck here together best listen the hell up. You want to work together? FINE. First you gotta to is tell the rest of us what hell you can do. No more fucking surprises like some seven foot leopard man!

The only way to pool our goddamn resources are if we know what the fuck they are! And if you can do shit like that, then it's a goddamn resource!

I don't care where the hell you picked to hole your asses up, but if you're gonna talk to me and everyone else about how we should kum-by-fucking-ya, then you best be offering up your skills so we can take full advantage of them.

And don't make runs outside the walls alone no more without telling someone where the hell you're gonna be so we know to keep an eye on you! Hell, I don't even go hunting without telling Glenn I'll be out! You got people to rely on so rely on them!

[ If he couldn't tell already. She's also not necessarily ignoring that sarcastic tone but she wouldn't be Rose if she didn't try to keep it light. ]

For realsies though, I'll keep in touch. I do better flying solo- [ It's not actually that she does better, but that she feels better when it's just her own wellbeing at stake. Rose refuses to put other people in jeopardy if she can help it. ] -but it's good to know I wouldn't be going it totally alone out here.

If it gets too rough out here though I might check into the hotel. [ 'If that's alright' is somewhat implied. ] Someone told me that'd be a safe place to go with enough space so I can still kind of do my own thing.

Don't see it as safe, personally. But there are others there and if you can hold it, it's yours to have. Me and mine... some of mine... we're elsewhere.

[ Mm. Well, then. She might not say it but so far Daryl's been the one with the best advice for her from the jump. He was the first to tell her what to do about walkers, where to head (even if she didn't listen), and so... She trusts his word more than Cas'. If he doesn't think it's safe, she'll sooner believe him than whatever anyone else might try to tell her. ]

That's cool. [ If he's not telling her where they are, she won't ask. ] Hopefully I won't need to take up space in the hotel, but... better safe than sorry and have an idea where to go in case I do.

[ There's a distinct pause as she tries to decide if she should ask this next question or not. It's risky, but maybe - just maybe - she can spin it in a way that isn't suspicious. ]

Are there any doctors we know of here, by any chance? [ Healers work, too, but... She'd prefer a doctor. Not that. She needs one or anything!! ]

We got a place on the lakes shore. Can show you if you ever head in to the city.

[Daryl offered it an uncertain, slightly nervous tone before clearing his throat and moving on.]

Only one who's said anything about being able to do any healing of others is a woman named Maya. You get hurt?

[ Oh. That's... unexpected. Nice, of course, but still a little surprising. ]

Sure. That sounds awesome.

[ Now it's her turn. She was going to lie and say that she was totally fine, but after he just kind of told her their super secret hide out spot she'd feel guilty being (completely) dishonest in return. Feelings. They suck. ] 'Tis but a scratch. [ A gross, infected stab wound is not a scratch. ] Nothing I can't take care of myself but I figured it didn't hurt to ask who we had available.

[ Maya may be super cool but she seems a little on the slash, stab and ask questions later side. Not exactly reassuring in a medic. It's actually kind of amusing she has the ability to spontaneously combust people and heal them. ]

A scratch? How'd you get it and did you clean it out?

[He might not be a doctor, but he knew some basics. Had to, with all the shit he'd gotten into growing up.]

It's, uh, from before the crash. I kind of made it worse what with... the crash then gallivanting around after. But, yeah, I cleaned it out and everything.

[ Like. Once. At the beginning of everything. She even dressed it too (with some questionable fabric) but then it re-opened and bled through. From there it was a downhill slope into a really gross, painful wound. It'll still heal but her naturally enhanced healing factor is slowed thanks to the lack of food and stress and general fuckery that is trying to survive happening. ]

So it should be fine, right? Just gotta' keep an eye on it.

You been cleaning it out every day? Changing the bandage? You even got it bandaged?

[That was totally suspicion in his tone.]

[ No, no, and no. ]

Of course! Who do you take me for? [ Someone who knows absolutely nothing about caring for wounds because almost all hers were always healed for her. Which she is. But, hey, on the bright side she now knows what to do for the next time. If there is one. She hopes there isn't this has been awful enough. ]

I got it all under control.

[ Besides. He has way more to worry about, from the sound of it, than her stupid self not knowing basic self care. ]

Uh huh.

[It was really hard to tell if she was lying when he couldn't see her face. But he had a feeling she was, at the very least, downplaying the wound.]

Getting enough to eat? Didn't really take you for the sort that knew their way around the woods.

[ On the flip side, that's why she likes audio only. Texting was preferable but she can still manage this. He doesn't say anything else about the wound though, despite his doubts, so she is in the clear. Aw yis. ]

I am. I found some totally sweet snacks at the minimart. [ Sweet in the metaphorical and literal sense. The cherries aren't sitting well though, unfortunately. But before he says anything, she adds- ] Really, though, yeah. I grew up in, uh, a pretty harsh place so... These woods are kind of tame compared to it.

[ ... Walkers aside. Though even those aren't so bad compared to the monsters the Makai. ]

But you do know what's poisonous? Can you kill yourself something to get some meat?

[ What's poisonous to humans may not be to her. ]

I know at least the poisonous things that would immediately kill me. And yes! I can and have, in fact, killed my very own squirrel. [ It isn't much and was a tough bugger to catch, but she was a wolf no matter how domesticated she may have become in recent years. She'd be disappointed with herself if she couldn't get herself a meal despite how meager it may be. ]

...try not to get sick.

[Only advice he has left for her. He couldn't stop her from digging her own grave if he didn't know where to start looking.]

I can't make any promises, but... I'll do my best. Hope things get better on your end and that there aren't any more leopard man surprises or... anything.

[ He seems calmer now, anyway. Maybe just tired. At least he'll have one less person to worry about, if nothing else. ]

[She got a soft grunt and a barely audible 'thanks' for those words. He didn't exactly know what else to say. And until he could figure out where she actually was so he could start leaving some game where she'd find it, there wasn't much more he could do for her.]
